a specific solution for urinary incontinence

Proven efficacy

A multicentric field study was carried out on 58 incontinent bitches from 2 to 19 years old, assessed by practising veterinary surgeons for up to 13 months. It gave the following results:

The study concluded that phenylpropanolamine given at a dose of 1mg/kg three times daily is safe and efficacious for the long term management of urinary incontinence associated with urethral sphincter mechanism incontinence in the ovariohysterectomised bitch.  An international, multicentre, blinded placebo controlled trial included 50 dogs with SMI that were treated with Propalin Syrup for 28 days.

Owners monitored dogs daily for presence/absence of involuntary micturition and adverse effects. The investigating veterinary surgeon examined the dogs on days 0, 7 and 28.
